Three Poisons of Mind is the first three elements of The Six Primary Delusions. These are Greed, Anger, and Foolishness.
Greed is too much desire, in appropriate wishes and to take too much from others. For example, you want to get too much money, too much drinking, too much eating and etc. Like in one of the scene of “The Divine Comedy” by Dante Alighieri, a gulottney is an over indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink. In Christianity, it is considered a sin if the excessive desire for food causes it to be withheld from the needy. Also in some Christian denominations, it considers gluttony as one of the seven deadly sins, a misplaced or inordinate desire for food and drink, in Buddhism excessive desires should be avoided under controlling your mind.
Furthermore a greed is not only material matter but also we can see it in non-physical matter like too much fame, too much desire of positions and getting improper honors. These are the greeds that beyond the middle way. Buddha found the middle path is the appropriate way to attain enlightenment when he met a young girl who gave him a milk gruel during his bathing in the river. She was singing a song “ There is no sound with loose code. Even if you pull it too much, no sound comes out. Just a good tension leads to a good sound.” Even it is good thing if you desire too much, it will turn to be bad. To satisfy what we have already is one of the middle way of living.
Although there are two types of anger, one is a public anger and another one is a private anger, an instant fury like a instantaneous water heater is a representative of private anger. A public anger is acceptable by the means of sacred desire that you want to solve the problems of the society that has so much contradicted and unacceptable matters around us. Conversely, a private anger is just your inside manner so that it should be resolved by your controlling mind. An anger is an emotion not only offensive to the person but also it damage you because anger’s fire burns yourself and ruins you by such a fury.
If you have a limited knowledge of the truths that includes the system of our spiritual life and existence of invisible world. This world is based on the law of cause and effect so if you do not understand that law, you are foolish enough to make some trouble on you and your life then you make so much excuses and complains. That is a situation of foolishness. Also you have too much greeds then if you cannot get all these desires, you will make complains. That is a state of foolishness also.
